CARROLLTON, Texas - Wright Group Architects + Planners completed the construction of Tyler Classical Academy in Tyler, Texas on Monday, August 28. The 37,636 square-foot charter school, owned by Responsive Education Solutions, is a elementary/middle school located at the corner of University Blvd. and Lazy Creek Dr. In addition to the school, there is also a 12,764 square-foot gymnasium that will be fully operational in mid-September.
"There were a lot of interesting challenges. The things like doorways and arches were a fun design element and the finished product has a pleasing feel to it. We're really happy with the end result," said Jerry LaVarnway, Wright Group project Architect.
LaVarnway also had plenty of praise for Wright Group's client, Responsive Education Solutions (RES).
“RES’s desire to provide the highest quality of education for its students continues to grow, even into the aesthetics of its facilities and their impact on a students’ learning environment. We believe this is the best school we have provided yet, and look forward to doing even more in the near future,” LaVarnway said.
Wright Group is hopeful this is not the last Tyler RES project, as construction on a Tyler Classical Academy High School appears to be on the horizon for 2018.
